Michael Shear is founder and president of Strategic Office Networks and a director of non-profit Broadband Planning Initiatives. His work focuses on creating specific ways of applying technology to evolve urban and regional planning into a more inclusive, equitable and secure distributed network of local centers. His current efforts are to support the examination of distributed labor clusters and he is seeking support to build a proof of concept of his patented ‘Multi-location Distributed Workplace Network’. He serves as a member of the ULI Austin District’s Local Member Council on Regional Growth. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder earning a BA in International Affairs and MS in Telecommunications.
